花さきみのらむは知らずいつくしみ猶もちいつく夢の木実を

佐佐木信綱歌集『老松』

歌意：花が咲くか、果実が実るかは分からないけれど。
慈しみながら大切にしましょう。夢の木の実を。

歌人・学者であった佐佐木信綱がこよなく愛し、短歌の種を蒔いた土地 熱海。
信綱が晩年を過ごした旧居・凌寒荘は市の文化施設となり、また町には信綱の歌碑や史跡が点在しています。
信綱以外にも文人たちのエピソードが豊富な熱海。

坪内逍遥がシェイクスピアを翻訳し、太宰治が走れメロスの原体験である熱海事件を起こしました。
谷崎純一郎が愛した洋菓子店や志賀直哉が通った洋食店は現在も営業中で、彼らが愛したケーキやシチューに舌鼓を打つこともできます。

文人たちと同じ潮風を感じ、肩を並べ、あなたも熱海を短歌作品に詠んでみませんか？

信綱の教えを受け、理念を継承した凌寒会、そして凌寒会の意思を継いだ佐佐木信綱祭短歌大会実行委員会では年一回短歌大会を実行し作品を幅広く募集しておりります。2018年からは題詠「熱海」シリーズを開始。熱海を詠んだ作品を広く募集し作品集に収録。街の施設に配布しています。
作品の応募締切は３月31日。（学校単位での学生の部締め切りを除く）
入選作の表彰・批評は６月第２土曜日の熱海・起雲閣にて行います。
太宰が「人間失格」を執筆した旅館（現在は熱海市の指定有形文化財）です。
